Who runs this site
My Memory Check is a non-commercial research and education project, built as a student science fair project and operated from British Columbia, Canada. It is not operated by a company, it sells nothing, and it runs no advertising. You can reach the operator at contact@mymemorycheck.ai.
The memory check
Your answers to the memory check never leave your device. The questions, the timer, the scoring, and the result are all calculated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing for us to store, lose, sell, or hand over. Closing the tab discards it all.
The AURORA analysis tool
The separate AURORA tool, for people who already have clinical test results, does send those values to our server so the model can process them. We designed it so those values are never written down:
- The values you submit are used to produce your result and are then discarded. They are never saved to our database.
- What we do save is a one-way fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of the submission, plus the result category and how many fields were filled in. A hash cannot be turned back into your data.
- We do not store your name, date of birth, address, or any other identifying detail, because we never ask for them.
- If you upload an MRI scan, it is passed to the model for analysis and not retained afterwards.
The question-and-answer assistant
This is the part to be careful with. When you type a question to the assistant, your message is sent to a third-party AI provider — currently Google (Gemini), Groq, or OpenRouter — which generates the reply. We do not store your conversation, but we cannot control what those companies do with it, and their free service tiers may use submitted content to improve their own systems.
Please do not type personal health information, your name, or any other detail you would not want a third party to hold into the assistant. Ask general questions instead.
Basic usage statistics
We count how many assessments have been run, and we record the country a request came from, which our hosting provider supplies. We do not store IP addresses and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. These counts cannot be linked back to an individual.
Companies that help run the site
- Vercel — hosting. Sees network requests as any web host does.
- Supabase — the database holding the anonymous counts described above.
- Hugging Face — runs the AURORA model itself.
- Google, Groq, OpenRouter — generate assistant replies, as described above.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not designed for or directed at children.
Your privacy rights
Canadian privacy law — British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, and PIPEDA federally — gives people rights to see, correct, and withdraw consent for personal information an organisation holds about them. Those rights are easy to honour here because there is essentially nothing to hold: we collect no names, no contact details, no accounts, and no health values, so in normal use we have no personal information about you at all.
If you believe we hold something about you regardless, or you want to raise a privacy concern, write to contact@mymemorycheck.ai. You may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Where your information is processed
The companies listed above operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe. Anything sent to them — which, as described above, means assistant messages and (for the AURORA tool) the test scores you enter — is processed there and is subject to the laws of those countries. The at-home memory check never sends anything anywhere, so this does not apply to it.

If how the site handles data changes, this page is updated at the same time. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
